. The Christmas Sweater stencil is a duplicating stencil pattern created in a square shape that accomplishes quick surface area coverage!

Developed with a row of stately evergreen trees, homespun straight and cross stitches, 2 flying reindeer and a centerstage snowflake. While I’m soooo tempted to sweater-up everything in sight now,(I still may! )the very first thing I preferred were some new neutral Christmas and winter season toss pillows. And within minutes, I had my brand-new comfortable pillows total!

This is one FAST job. I enjoyed the result so much, I produced both a black and white pillow with it! So, here’s how the stencil deals with any surface area, then I’ll share the 2 pillows I made with it. And make certain to capture the short video at the end of this post for a practical visual! Do It Yourself Christmas Sweater pillows with stencils

. Materials I used:. Christmas Sweater

stencil from HERE Paint of option– I used Fusion Mineral Paint’s Coal Black and Picket Fence HERE (find a local Blend Mineral Paint merchant HERE) Stencil brushes– I choose dome-tipped like THESE Plain pillow cover– I utilized Ikea’s 20 ″ Gurli in White HERE and Black HERE 20 ″ feather pillow inserts Masking tape How to stencil. 1. Center and safe stencil in the middle of a plain pillow cover. It’s an excellent idea to slip something water resistant inside the pillow cover so the paint doesn’t bleed to the opposite. I utilized a plastic bag. 2. Load stencil brush with white paint, then off-load some paint to develop more of a dry-to-the-touch stencil brush. A drier brush makes sure sharper images.

3. Stencil images by tapping or swirling the brush over the stencil surface, taking

care to not get paint underneath the stencil images. Among my fav stencil techniques is to begin on the stencil sheet initially, then slowly move the brush towards the stencil cut-outs. It offers a little more of an even shift. If you do swirl, I find it simpler utilizing a dome-tipped stencil brush like THESE HERE which are

my favs. How-to:. How to extend pattern to the edges. 4. Stencil whole image, consisting of the little triangles along the bottom of the stencil. These are tree-top registration marks you’ll need to extend the pattern when working down. 5. To extend upper and lower pattern: Align the stencil tree tops to the little triangle registration marks. Continue stenciling. 6. To extend side pattern: Position stencil in the middle of the pillow. Then slide stencil over to one side, overlapping the edge row of graphics with edge painted graphics. Continue stenciling. Repeat in all 4 directions and corners up until job is total. Isn’t the outcome amazing?! It’s looking relaxing currently! But let’s add a smooshy feather pillow insert to that pillow cover to pretty this DIY Christmas
